松井春花 (Haruka Matsui）
Haruka Matsui is an adult with down syndrome. She has a passion for music composition and loves watching anime during her free time. She currently works for LIVES Food Truck “OOPEN”, and she hopes to continue her love for cooking and serving customers by working at a cafe in the near future! Haruka’s optimism will bring a smile to anyone’s face, and I sure hope that the short interview below will bring a smile to your face as you learn about who she is as an individual.

LIVES Food Truck “OOPEN” is a project by Hands on Tokyo (https://www.handsontokyo.org/) that began in 2017, promoting employment for people with disabilities. People with disabilities and student volunteers work together in the food truck to sell delicious lunch meals around different locations in Tokyo.

What’s your disability?
I have down syndrome.
What’s your favorite part about LIVES Food truck?
I like the process of making bentos (lunch boxes).
What’s your favorite dish from LIVES food truck?
I like a lot of them, especially the keema curry and ratatouille chicken.
What’s your favorite memory from LIVES Food truck?
My favorite memory is collaborating and making food with a lot of people.
It was a great experience to talk to my friends and people from other countries.
What’s your hobby?
My hobby is singing and watching anime. I like anime songs and the songs that I’ve composed. I compose my own songs by thinking of my own lyrics and melody, and then combing them.
What’s the biggest challenge that you’ve faced?
I don’t know.
How do you want people to perceive you?
I don’t know.
What do you think are your greatest characteristics?
I am very optimistic and nice.
What’s your dream?
I want to work at a cafe and serve customers.
Where do you want to open lives food truck in the future? (Ex: Hawaii)
I want to open the food truck in every country.
Where do you want to travel to?
I really want to go to France, Italy, New York, Korea, and the US.
