The power of your originality.

ABOUT

OrigPower is a space to express each individual’s originality. Disability does not make one weak, nor does it entirely define an individual. We aim to create a more inclusive society by showcasing each individual’s originality from the disability community.

OUR VISION

As GenZs, we own the voice of our society. We have every power to reduce inequalities for the next generation.

Whether it’s a video, artwork, podcast interview, poem, or simply photos, anything can define your originality. Every individual should have equal opportunities and rights regardless of their disabilities.

We hope to spread more awareness on disability inclusion and amplify the voices of disabled individuals.

FROM THE FOUNDER

When I first entered high school, I joined several volunteering organizations and quickly found my passion there. I felt the happiest giving to other people and established valuable friendships that I wouldn’t trade anything for. As I spent a lot of time working with youths with disabilities in Japan through the organization Hands on Tokyo, I came to realize that they were denied the opportunities that I am being given right now. The inequality among those with disabilities in Japan is prevalent. This isn’t a problem only in Japan, but it has always been a  global issue. After doing months of research and brainstorming, I decided to launch this initiative: OrigPower: The Power of Your Originality. Through this initiative, I hope to find a chance for individuals to simply connect and showcase their originality. To OrigPower’s potential and current community member, how do you define your originality?
